National Simultaneous Storytime 2025

National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country. Now in its 25th successful year, it is a colourful, vibrant, fun event that aims to promote the value of reading and literacy, using an Australian children's book that explores age-appropriate themes, and addresses key learning areas of the National Curriculum for Foundation to Year 6.

Science and Engineering Challenge - RYSTEM Engagement Day

Science and Engineering Challenge Year 5 & 6 We are excited to be able to provide the opportunity for our Stage 3 students to attend the Rotary International Science & Engineering Challenge - RYSTEM Engagement Mid-Coast Day at the Wingham High School on Thursday 22 May 2025. This is a full day event designed to provide students in Years 5 and 6 with positive experiences exploring hands on activities involving Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths and Art. Participating students will have the opportunities to challenge themselves in design and construct activities while competing against students from other local schools. Students need to supply their own recess and water bottle. Lunch will be provided for students free of charge. Should your child have any special dietary requirements, it is advised that you supply their lunch. We invite all students in Years 5 & 6 to participate in this event.
